The love, learn, and play (LLP) mindset is our answer to the question, “What do we need to flourish?” When we reflect upon our lives, the moments we look back on most fondly are those moments when we were loving, learning, and playing as much as possible.
We don’t need fancy job titles or large bank accounts to flourish. Materialistic pursuits, while socially incentivized, act only as means to our ultimate end goals, which UEF believes to be engaging with our deepest longings of loving, learning and playing.
Our team continues to write articles and curate content related to LLP in order to illustrate how this framework for flourishing is compatible with all existing religions and other belief systems, just like a software that is universally compatible with all operating systems.
Our flagship book on human flourishing is an exposition on the “Love Learn Play mindset”, a new framework for human flourishing based on the distillation of wisdom from philosophy and religion, as well as the social and physical sciences. It explores what is preventing us from truly flourishing.
The key insight from our work so far is that we fall victim to “false narratives” and a phenomenon called “means-ends inversion” (MEI). We develop a “socialized self” that is led astray from our core pursuits of loving, learning and playing. We refer to this life trajectory as “compulsive living.”
By embracing the LLP mindset, we come to actualize the authentic self within us that allows us to truly flourish and live more consciously, achieving a stage of enlightenment in our lives defined by a clearer sense of the nature of ourselves and the world around us.
Love, Learn, Play: The Triple Helix of Human Flourishing
At the root of our existential drive lives a steady core: loving, learning, and playing (LLP). The big existential questions to which we seek answers are our minds’ way of bringing to our attention these drives, just as thirst and hunger are our bodies’ way of bringing to our attention our need for drink or food.
This is a selection of excerpts from our forthcoming book on LLP. Enjoy!
