Deification of Prophets After Death

In this course we cover deification of prophets after death. Most religious traditions have come to elevate their prophets to divine status, even though the prophets themselves often resisted this elevation. We draw on Krishna and the Hindu tradition of avatars, Muhammad's refusal of worship, the Buddha's categorical rejection of godhood, and Confucius, who achieved deification only through his teachings.
