UEF’S “LOVE, LEARN, PLAY” CAMPAIGN ARRIVES ON SAVANNAH BUS STOP BENCHES

Public-space campaign brings a simple message about human flourishing into everyday life in Savannah
SAVANNAH, Ga. — Bus stop benches at two Savannah intersections now carry a simple invitation: Love. Learn. Play.
Universal Enlightenment and Flourishing (UEF), a nonprofit dedicated to advancing human flourishing and religious literacy, has launched the public-awareness campaign in collaboration with the Savannah Urbanist Society.
The campaign was spearheaded locally by Savannah resident and UEF collaborator Allen J. Simon, president-elect of the Savannah West Rotary Club. The messages currently appear on benches at:
- East Anderson Street and Atlantic Avenue
- Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and West Anderson Street
Images of the Savannah installations are available through the Savannah Urbanist Society here and here.
The campaign brings UEF’s central idea into the spaces of everyday life: some of our deepest human longings are to love, to learn and to play, and cultivating these dimensions of life can help people and communities flourish.
Rather than asking people to add something else to an already busy day, the campaign offers a simple invitation during an ordinary moment: How will you love, learn and play today?
“Human flourishing can sound abstract, but it is created through ordinary moments,” said Akhil Gupta, founder of UEF. “A bus stop is part of the rhythm of everyday life. Our hope is that seeing ‘Love. Learn. Play.’ gives someone a moment to think about how they want to connect with the people around them, remain curious, create, explore and enjoy being alive.”
UEF has also explored Love, Learn, Play through a Savannah lens in a recent podcast episode featuring Michael O’Neal, founder and director of the local nonprofit Parent University. In “Parent University: Lifelong Learning Through Love & Play,” O’Neal and Simon discuss how love, learning and play shape Parent University’s work with Savannah families.
UEF’s Love, Learn, Play framework draws from longstanding wisdom traditions and contemporary research into human flourishing. Through its research, educational resources, interviews, podcasts and newsletters, UEF explores how these fundamental human longings appear across cultures, traditions and everyday experience.
The Savannah campaign is part of UEF’s broader effort to move conversations about human flourishing beyond academic and institutional settings and into ordinary public life.
Additional photographs of the Savannah installations and interviews with Allen Simon, Akhil Gupta and other UEF representatives are available to members of the media.
