The Image of Chariot and Charioteer

In this course we cover the chariot as spiritual symbol. The chariot represents the self mastered; the charioteer represents disciplined intellect; the horses represent the senses. This recurring image teaches mental mastery across traditions. We draw on the Katha Upanishad, Krishna's teaching to Arjuna in the Bhagavad Gita, Sufi parables, the Daoist Lieh-tzu, and Zen Buddhist teachers on reining mind and action.
